Shahdara area has good infrastructure. Power cuts are rare now, thanks to underground cabling. You can see outages during the peak time in summer for 1-2 hours.

Well-lit main roads feel safe until 10 PM. Police patrols have increased after dark. Women prefer using metro over buses at night. The new CCTV cameras help, but coverage is needs to be increased.

Shahdara has an excellent metro network. There is a Red Line station at Shahdara. During rush hour, trains come every 10 minutes. Auto-rickshaws from stations are there for the last-mile connectivity well.

Main roads like GT Road are well-maintained. Internal lanes near Shahdara Mandi turn terrible after rains. The new flyover at Seelampur has eased traffic.

Parking is a nightmare near markets. I often circle for 30 minutes during weekends. Residents have started converting empty plots into paid parking.

Winter AQI regularly crosses 400. The industrial area near Seelampur and the pollution from traffic make breathing difficult. Many families now use air purifiers. The parks offer a little respite from the pollution.
