About Bandra West

Bandra West is a coastal suburb located in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. Bandra West Pin code is 400050. Its adjacent localities are Khar to the north, and Worli to the South connected through “ Bandra-Worli Sea Link”. 

The name "Bandra" possibly originates from the Persian word for Port, or Bandar. It was a tiny fishing village inhabited by Kolis (fishermen) and salt farmers. In 1950, it was merged into the Bombay Municipal Corporation to form the Municipal Corporation of Greater Bombay. Now, Bandra West has transformed into one of the most upscale popular suburbs with the most fancy lifestyle of the city today. 

Bandra West Mumbai has a cosmopolitan vibe, where residents belong to Hindu, Muslim and Parsi communities. It consists of many temples, mosques and churches which show the cultural diversity of the place and its residents. Majority of people residing here belong to upper or upper-middle class society.
